Ideally located on Jamaica’s scenic North Coast, The Green Grotto Caves are just over 3km from the spot where Christopher Columbus landed in 1494. The caves were sought after as a hideout by the Spanish during the takeover of the island by the English in 1655 and is said to have been a haven for runaway slaves in the 18th century.
In just under an hour, your trained and experienced guide will take you on a walking adventure through the Caves’ inner beauty with its series of interconnected passageways and chambers, light holes, majestic stalactites and stalagmites.
Continue down some 37 meters to the cave’s innermost cavern, where you will come upon the Grotto….with water as translucent as nothing you have seen before!
